ЁМКОСТЬ ДЛЯ ГОРЧИЦЫ. Antique Sterling Silver & Blue Glass Lined Mustard Pot by Gorham Mfg dated 1919

This Antique Mustard Pot measures approximately 2 3/8 inches or 61 mm across its length from the handle to the front lip of its upper body by 2 inches or 51 mm across the width of its central body from side to side and it stands 2 inches or 51 mm tall to the top of the finial on its lid.
The mustard pot is made from sterling silver in a a circular cauldron like shape with an externally rolled flaring upper rim over a bulbous shaped body that has been decorated with twelve faceted panels and it stands on a splayed circular foot, the mustard pot has a shaped handle with a three section piano hinged dome shaped facet decorated lid that has a shaped finial on the top and it is complete with its original internal Bristol blue glass liner or mustard reservoir, the mustard pot has Not been engraved with a previous owners initial or family monogram all as photographed below, the inner lid along with the side of the body have been impressed with English sterling silver hallmarks that read as follows,
G.M.Co - Anchor - Lion Passant - u
G.M.Co is the Birmingham based American silversmith or makers mark of Gorham Manufacturing Company whose mark is recorded as being used from 1904 to 1938, the Anchor is the mark of the Birmingham assay office, the Lion Passant is the mark of English 925 standard solid sterling silver and the letter u is the date letter for 1919.

he condition is used and Excellent for its age.
The mustard pot has No Large Dents, No Splits, No Cracks, No Holes and No Repairs that I can find, mustard pot stands straight, the definition and decoration are very crisp, the hinged lid opens and closes with perfectly ease, the internal blue glass liner is in mint condition with no chips and no cracks, the liner is a perfect fit that holds liquid without leaking, the silver hallmarks are still legible although as the mustard pot is a used antique it does have the odd tiny shallow dent that is hardly worth mentioning along with some extremely minor surface marks and wear from use, it has the patina of age that is to be expected and a gentle clean would enhance it greatly. Personally I think that this antique mustard pot can still be used today on a dining table for mustard, mint or cranberry sauces and that it would make a superb addition to any cabinet collection, I also think that it looks fantastic considering that it's almost 100 years old.
This Delightful Antique Sterling Silver & Bristol Blue Glass Lined Facet Decorated Mustard Pot from Birmingham dated 1919 is one of several pieces of antique and collectable silver that I have also listed.
